Pastor Shirley Mercer went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at her residence in Big Island Va.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ruth Strandburg and her husband, Pastor Ira Vincent Mercer. She is survived by two loving children, Ruthie Mercer and Vincent Mercer, along with other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, Va. A visitation will also be held at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg today, Friday, July 29, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please offer donations to the Big Island Emergency Crew P.O. Box 343 Big Island, Va. 24526.
