Patricia Ann Boyd

Patricia Ann Sweeney Boyd, 82, of Lynchburg, died Tuesday July 17, 2012 at Medical Care Center HCR Manor Care. 

Born March 17, 1930 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Paul Edward Sweeney and Margaret Giles Sweeney.  She is survived by her two daughters Laura Boyd Wilson, and her husband, Mike Wilson of Atlanta Georgia, and Martha Roberts Boyd of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  She is also survived by five grandchildren, her brother Paul E. Sweeney Jr. of Lynchburg and her sister Susan Sweeney Reed of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Pat was an active member in the Daughters of the King at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.  She also served on the Altar Guild and served in other areas of the church.  Pat was a member of the D.A.R as well.

A graduate of Randolph Macon Women's College and Lynchburg College, Pat taught in the Lynchburg Public School System.  She was blessed with many friends whom she loved dearly and could not have lived without.  The funeral service will be held at 12 (noon)on Friday, July 20, 2012 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev. James Hubbard, the Rev. Catherine Montgomery, and the Rev. William Bumgarner officiating. Committal will follow in the church's columbarium.  The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 605 Clay St. Lynchburg VA, 24504.
