Patricia Carlton Pruitt

d. May 1, 2017

Patricia “Trish” Ann Carlton Pruitt, 69, of Lynchburg, Va. passed peacefully from this life to her heavenly home on Monday, May 1, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Clara Lee and Rommie Lee Daniel; her father, Raymond William Carlton.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James C. Pruitt; step-mother, Irene Carlton; daughters, Angela Andrews (Ed) and Jennifer Moore (Scott); grandchildren, Michael Hart (Logan) and Charlie Hart (Hannah); many special nieces, nephews, and friends.

She also leaves behind many special friends, nurses and care providers at The Oncology Center in Lynchburg which she frequented with her husband, as well as teachers and countless children whose lives she touched during her years of care as a nursery school teacher and teacher’s aide.

“Trish” was a kind and generous wife, mother, Nana and friend to all she knew and loved. Quick to lend a hand to a child in need or an ear to a hurting soul, she always had a bright blue-eyed smile, strong shoulder and an amazing hug.

She will be greatly missed and her memory will be forever treasured in our hearts.

A celebration of Trish’s life will take place at Tharp Funeral Chapel, Lynchburg on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Monty Fox officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
