Patricia Elaine Birch

Patricia Elaine Birch, 96, of Lynchburg died on Sunday December 20, 2020. She was a daughter of the late Jack and Ella Haig Cooper.  She was predeceased by her husband of over 70 years, Richard S. Birch, Jr., brother, Jack Cooper, and sister Nellie Curran. She is survived by sisters Barbara Camburn, Dorothy Deborah Goldy, and Ella Maude Metters.  A draft obituary handwritten by Pat was found several years ago by her daughter, Cathy Lawhorn, and reads as follows:

 “I was born in NJ in 1924, lived well & blessed, loved my husband Dick for 71 years, our children Rick Birch & wife Janet, Robbie Birch & wife Joan, Randy Birch & wife Mioara, Cathy Birch Lawhorn & partner Rick Remillard, our 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and have now moved on to make room for some others and hope that they will have as blessed a life as I have had!”

Pat certainly did live a full and happy life. She was an avid and adventurous traveler with her husband Dick for many years.  Both of them have been and continue to be a remarkable inspiration for their family, and many others. Her children would like to thank all the people that helped care for their parents at Westminster Canterbury throughout the later years that they lived there.
