Patricia Farley Edwards, of 501 VES Rd., Lynchburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 5, 2017, after a long battle with dementia.
One of twelve children, Pat graduated from Mary Mount School in Richmond, Va., where she was part of the first graduating class. She retired from Bank of America after 22 years of service. She served St. John’s Episcopal Church and her community faithfully. Pat loved spending time with family and friends. Her grandchildren were her greatest treasure. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward Milton Farley and Anna Latham Farley, as well as seven brothers and three sisters.
Pat is survived by her husband of 56 years Robert L. Edwards; her daughters Deirdre Rainey (Scott) and Anna McWane (Paul); two grandchildren Holly Anne McWane and Katherine Farley McWane; one brother Sherin Farley; along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Pat will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 200 Boston Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24503, at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017, with the Rev. William J. Watson, III officiating. A reception will follow in Magill Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Westminster Canterbury Fellowship Fund, 501 VES Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24503.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the 5th Floor Drinkard at Westminster Canterbury and Senior Independence Hospice for the wonderful care Pat received.
