Patricia Gail Treadway Oliver
May 18, 1936 — January 29, 2015
Patricia (Pat) Treadway Oliver, age 78, of Lynchburg, VA and formerly of Morganton, NC, passed away Thursday, January 29th, 2015 at her home with her family and her dog Molly by her side.
Patricia was graduated from Valdese High School in Valdese, NC. She established and managed The Travel Gallery in Morganton, NC, where she worked for more than 25 years until she retired in 1988. She loved traveling and travelled the world with her dear husband, Richard. She particularly enjoyed travelling to South Africa and Hawaii.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 27 years, Dr. Richard Oliver; her four children and their spouses; Kevin Robbins, Tracy Setzer and wife, Teresa, Scott Setzer and wife, Toy, Kim Angermeier and husband, Tom; three grandchildren, Tashia McKinney, Todd Setzer and Luke Setzer; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Dalton McKinney; her brother Leroy Treadway and wife, Diann, and Leon Treadway and wife, Joan; also a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Belle Treadway and her sister, Doris Zimmerman. A special thanks to Debbie Haithcock and the caregivers at Home Instead Senior Care and the staff at the Summit Rehabilitation Center in Lynchburg.
The family will receive friends in Lynchburg from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. Monday, February 2nd, 2015 at Tharp Funeral Home where a celebration of her life service will begin at 4:30 p.m. Services in North Carolina will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 5th, 2015 at Heritage Funeral Home in Valdese, NC, with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018 and Lynchburg Humane Society, 3305 Naval Reserve Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
