Patricia “Gayle” Nicholas Brown

Patricia “Gayle” Nicholas Brown, 70, of Madison Heights died Saturday, December 10, 2016. She was the wife of the late Steven B. Brown.
Gayle was born November 5, 1946 in Lynchburg, a daughter of the late Montague Mason Nicholas, Jr. and Virginia O’Dell Bailey Nicholas. Gayle worked as a program analyst with the State of Virginia. Gayle loved being a grandmother to her one grandson. She also loved the ocean, fishing and especially, the time she spent with her husband, daughter, and grandson on their piece of paradise on the Chesapeake Bay.
She is survived by her daughter, Leah Brown Decker; one grandson Jacob L. Brown, both of Richmond; one sister, who was her caretaker for the last seven years, Peggy Anne Nicholas of Monroe; two brothers, M.M. “Monty” Nicholas, III, of Rustburg, and Norman Keith Nicholas of Lynchburg.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a beloved brother, Danny Lee Nicholas; a nephew, Daniel Lee Nicholas; and a beloved aunt, Della Bailey Burnham.
The family will hold a graveside service at Fort Hill Memorial Park at a later date.
