Patricia Griffith Rinker
Patricia Griffith Rinker at the age of 74 lost her battle with cancer on Friday, May 28 in Lynchburg. She was the wife of Dennis B. Rinker D.D.S. for fifty years.
Born, in Charlottesville, Pat was the daughter of the late Ardilla Maupin Griffith and Wilton A. Griffith.
In addition to her husband, Pat is survived by her children, Bonnie Rinker, of Lynchburg, and Donna Rinker and her fiancé Gary Thacker, and his son Scott Thacker, of Rustburg, a brother David Griffith and his wife, Carolyn, of Detroit, MI, a brother-in-law James Rinker Ph.D. and his wife, Natalie, of Charlottesville, VA, three cousins, Gary Maupin Goodale, of Roanoke, VA, Gail Maupin Jones, of Virginia Beach, VA, Sandra and Tuck Landry, of Charlottesville, VA, and several nieces and nephews.
Pat graduated from Greenbrier College in Lewisburg, WVA, and the University of Virginia School of Nursing. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother. She was especially proud of her nursing degree and her nursing career. Pat loved her home and enjoyed gardening and working with flowers in the yard.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM on Monday, May 31, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 11:00 AM Monticello Memory Gardens, Charlottesville, VA.
