Patsy Williams “Nannie” Stilwell, 82, of Monroe, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 5, 2018. She was the wife of the late Vincent “Bennie” Stilwell, Sr. for 53 years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Madge Williams and a daughter, Lucy Merchant.
Patsy is survived by her son, Vincent Stilwell, Jr.; a daughter, Laura Fox (Lloyd); and Hope Metzger, who was like a daughter to her; her grandchildren: Greg and Phillip Brown (Amanda), Layne Martin (Mike), Jami Graham (Brad), Chris Stilwell (Samantha), Emili Stilwell, and Brent Stilwell; her great-grandchildren: Devin and Peyton Martin, Ayden and Jayce Brown, Brayden and Corbin Stilwell, Madison Witcher, and Harper Graham.
Patsy retired from Tri-Tech labs after 52 years of managing the credit union. She loved bowling, painting, going to the beach, camping, and playing cards with her friends and family. More than anything she will be remembered for the hospitality she showed to everyone. She had a gift of making you feel special no matter who you were. She will be missed by many family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights, and other times at the home of her daughter, Laura, 428 Sunset Drive, Amherst, VA 24521.
The family wishes to give a special thank you to Amanda Brown for her loving care towards Nannie.
A private interment will take place at a later date.
