Paul Clifton Tomlin, 80, of Bedford, went to be with the Lord Friday, May 28, 2010. He was the husband of Lorraine Sutherland Tomlin for 60 years.
Mr. Tomlin was born Sunday, March 9, 1930 in Amherst, a son of the late Benjamin Clifton Tomlin and Myrtle Bell Martin Tomlin. He was a retired electrician from IBEW with over 55 years of service.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kenneth Lee Tomlin and wife, Janis of Keysville, James Michael Tomlin and wife, Lois of Lynchburg, Earl Clifton Tomlin and wife Karon of Bedford, Harold William Tomlin and wife, Ava of Lynchburg,
Jesse Allen Tomlin and wife, Sandy of Lynchburg, Gail Tomlin Aldridge and husband, Woody of Lynchburg; his brothers, Roosevelt Tomlin of Elon and Asa Lewis Tomlin and his wife Dump of Amherst; sisters, Gladys Martin of Amherst, and Maxine Vest of Madison Heights; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers, James, Hovey and Albert; and two sisters, Margaret, and Virginia Decker.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 31, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Home with the Rev. Alton L. Peters officiating. Internment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park.
