Paul David “Peanut” Lugar, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 8, 2016 after a long battle with Leukemia. He was 62 years old.
Paul was born in Norfolk, Va. on February 24, 1953. He was the fourth and youngest child of Joan and Robert D. Lugar, Sr.
During his time with us, Paul touched many lives with his constant acts of kindness and generosity. He had a deep faith that allowed him to see the best in people. Paul was well loved for this, along with his wonderful sense of humor and good-natured spirit.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Deborah L. Lugar; his parents Joan and Robert Lugar; and two siblings, Robert D. Lugar, Jr. and Sandra L. Evans.
He leaves one daughter, Nichole L. Wilberger and her husband Shannon Wilberger; two grandchildren, Isabel and Sawyer; his brother, James M. “Mickey” Lugar and his wife Monica; nieces and nephews; and many treasured friends.
A memorial service will be held at Lebanon United Methodist Church in Forest, Va. on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org).
