Paul Kenneth Johnson, Sr

Paul Kenneth Johnson, Sr. 71, of Lynchburg died Thursday May 23, 2013. He was the devoted husband of Marie Johnson.

 

Paul was born November 29, 1941 in Salem a son of the late Elmer Johnson and Oakey Austin Johnson. Paul worked as an Insurance Broker and was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church for over 50 years where he served as both a deacon and usher.

 

In addition to his wife he survived by two sons: Paul (P.K.) Johnson, Jr. and his wife Vicky, and Michael Johnson all of Lynchburg, three brothers: Phillip Johnson and his wife Edna of Lynchburg, Ron Johnson and his wife Linda of Huddleston, and Cecil Johnson of Rocky Mount, one sister-in-law Nancy Johnson of Moneta, three grandchildren: Jillian, Dusty, and Jenni, and one great granddaughter Nevaeh.

 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Lucy Johnson, a son Kenny L. Johnson, a brother Doug Johnson, and a step-daughter Annie Pugh. 

 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday May 28, 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.

 

A Celebration of Paul\"™s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday May 29, 2013 at Thomas Road Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
