Paul Richard Greenhow passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife, Anne Nesta Greenhow, on December 21, 2015 at the UVA Medical Center. His death came after a 15 month long and doctor astounding fight with Leukemia. Paul was loved by many and touched each life he encountered; his wife Anne will remember him as a loving husband, best friend, and soulmate.
While Paul was predeceased by his parents Frank Richard Greenhow and Alice Mary Joselyn, he leaves behind a family that will forever keep him alive through irreplaceable memories.
Paul is survived by his six children Jason Mark Elcan and wife Ashley, William Sean Elcan, Lawrie Anne Brust and husband Jason, Nesta Nicole Imboden and husband Greg, Scott Burton Elcan and wife Cody and Katherine Greenhow Taylor and husband Baird. Behind are also the six lights of his life, his grandchildren Henry and Lucas Brust, Lilly Elcan, Millie and Reeves Imboden, and Campbell Taylor. Paul is additionally survived by his brother Peter Greenhow and wife Liz, and three much loved nephews, John Greenhow and wife Cathy, Mike Greenhow and fiancé Michaela Fitzpatrick and Andrew Greenhow and fiancé Cat Bailey.
Paul was born in Redhill, Surrey England on September 21, 1954 and spent his childhood and adolescence in Weymouth, Dorset England. Paul was an avid photographer and enjoyed capturing different perspectives of the world around him, whether locally on the Blue Ridge Parkway or on the beaches of the Maldives. He had a passion for travel and found beauty wherever he ventured. From the slums of India to the rain forests of Borneo, Paul was known to have a camera on hand, ready for anything. Also, Paul enjoyed experimenting with different recipes for family gatherings, sharing his humor, quick wit and cuddling up with his grandchildren.
Paul retired from a career with the Royal Bank of Scotland and worked for Babcock and Wilcox when he moved to the U.S., first in their credit department and eventually serving as Financial Controller for their joint venture in India.
Paul will be greatly missed by family and friends all over the world.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA, on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dennis Roberts officiating.
