Paul Dugger, 68, of Lynchburg, died at his home on Thursday, June 30, 2016.
Born on January 26, 1948, in Lynchburg, Paul was a son of the late Christine Bagby Dugger and the late Ernest Morris Dugger, Sr. During the Vietnam War, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as an entrepreneur, and was a hardworking man. He was a friend to everyone, and was known for “tellin’ it like it is”. Most of all, Paul was a loving father who cherished his two sons immensely.
Left behind to remember his unique and wonderful personality are his two sons, Paul Owen Dugger of Birmingham, Ala., and McCarron Leigh Dugger of Lynchburg; their mother, Nan Dunlap Dugger; his siblings, Ernest M. Dugger, Jr. and his wife, Patti of Lynchburg, Aubrey D. Dugger and his wife, Gerri of Hampton, Robert A. Dugger and his wife, Rachel of North Bay Village, Fla., Ronald F. Dugger of Lynchburg, Billy F. Dugger of Big Island, Dr. Patricia D. Chappell of Memphis, Tenn., Catherine E. Dugger of Rustburg, and Mary Cecelia D. Pillow and her husband, Joseph of Bedford; his uncle, Eugene C. Bagby; and a host of other loving family and friends.
The family will receive friends at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at Tharp Funeral Chapel in Lynchburg on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 11 a.m.
