Pauline Elizabeth Turpin Penn, 93, of Goode, went to be the Lord on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 22, 1929, in Bedford County to the late Herbert M. Turpin and Elizabeth Hatcher Turpin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald L. Penn and sister, Nellie Cornelius.
Pauline was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church but attended and was very active at Mount Hermon Baptist Church most of her adult life. She was the co-manager at Bedford Lake for many years who loved the outdoors especially taken care of her flowers. Even though she didn’t have kids of her own, she was like a second mother to her nieces and nephews and was willing to help and or care for anyone in a time of need. Pauline was a very kind, caring, loving person and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sisters, Phyllis Smith, Shirley Richardson and husband, Jack and Faye T. Allen and husband, Robert; niece, Diane McFaden and husband, Dennis, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
Memorial Contributions in Pauline’s memory may be made to Mount Hermon Baptist Church or Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Tharp Funeral Chapel, Bedford with the Rev. John Boyles, and Rev. Julie Flores officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
