Pearl Rebecca Meade, 84, of Madison Heights, died Saturday, November 19, 2016.
Pearl was born August 30, 1932 in Amherst County, a daughter of the late Clarence Cashwell and Vergie Jackson. Pearl was retired as a manager with the N.Y. Telephone Company and was a member of Scott Zion Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Donald Diggs, Sharon Grant, Renee Diggs, Kenny Diggs, Felisha, Urshulla, Kenrica and April; two half-sisters; twelve grandchildren, Kimberly, Corey, Dawn, Daniel, Donnell, Terrell, Myra, Brianna, Ky’Isha, Crystal, Tyrease, and Denaya, and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Diggs; two brothers, John Willie and Roy Meade; and one aunt, Virginia Blair.
A Celebration of Pearl’s Life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Scott Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Russell G. Lee officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church. Interment will follow at the Christian Aid Cemetery in Amherst.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Madison Heights, is assisting the family.
