Pearl Smith Lacy

Pearl Marie Smith Lacy, 83 of Forest, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2010.  She was born October 22, 1926 in Nelson County.

In addition to her loving husband of 63 years, Edwin Lewis Lacy, she is survived by her brothers, and sisters: Evelyn and Dixie Lattanze of Roswell, GA, Everett and Audrey Smith of Goochland, VA, Harold and Linda Smith, of Elkton, VA, Linda and Roy Watson of Ruckersville, as well as her sons Steven E. Lacy of Mt Airy, MD, Jeffrey A. Lacy and wife, Cindy of Evington, James D. Lacy and wife, Lisa of Goode, Thomas M. Lacy and wife, Debi of Lady Lake, FL. and daughters, Anne L. Wagner and husband, Ernie of Forest, and Nancy Stewart, of Orlando, FL She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was a longtime member of St. Thomas More Church, Lynchburg Art Club and the Timbrook Woman\"™s club.  She was an avid New York Yankees fan.  She will be remembered for her generosity and caring nature.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 pm on Tuesday, August 24 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.   A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, August 25, 2010 in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, with Father Richard Mooney officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park, Forest.
