Pearlie Mae Williams, 91, of 1406 15th Street Lynchburg, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018. Born September 26, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Zerno and Pearl Wade.
In addition to her parents, Pearlie was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Williams; brother, Ralph Wade Sr.; Sister-in-laws, Elsie Wade and Jacqueline Williams of Brooklyn NY; nephews, Ralph Wade Jr., and Michael Wade; great grandsons, Trevor Coffey and Daion Williams.
She is survived by her seven children; Brenda Ware, Cynthia Slaughter (Alford), Herbert Williams Jr., Vincent Ray Williams, Gail Paige (Kerry“Ricky”), Deborah Williams, and Peggy Morris (Blake); grandchildren, Tracy Wade, Zerno Reynolds (Michelle), Eric Reynolds, Lettissia Williams, Marvin Slaughter (Corine), Jessica Horsley (Carl), Alon Slaughter (Melissa), Vincent Edwards (Tracey), Varick Edwards (Demeka), Justin Ware, Blake Morris Jr., Rachel Croner, and Zachary Ware; 15 great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren, one niece Sandra Halloway (Charlie); nephews, Donald Wade and Greg Wade, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg. Interment will be at a later date. The family will receive friends all other times at 703 Orchard Street, Lynchburg VA.
Pearlie will be remembered for her favorite quotes, “You think you’re cute” “Do the shoulder work.”
