Peggie Laverne Smith, 69, of Lynchburg, departed this life Monday, August 21, 2017. Born February 18, 1948 in Lynchburg, Va., she was a daughter of the late John Wesley Smith, Sr. and the late Maude Elaine Traynham Smith.
Peggie’s beautiful life will forever be cherished through the memories of her son, Vernon Ashley Shaw; daughter, Robyn Lynette Shaw; sisters, Joan Smith Johnson (Ray) and Judy Smith; brothers, John W. Smith, Jr. (Mable) and Roderick Bernard Smith (Carrie) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
The family will receive friends at 1419 Early Street, Lynchburg, Va. 24503 and at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A celebration of Peggie’s life will immediately follow in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Baptist Cemetery.
