Peggy Deibler Tibbs, 64, of Forest, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, in Mint Hill, NC.
Peggy was born on November 6, 1950, to the late Elmer H. and Jacqueline G. Deibler in Norfolk, Virginia. She graduated from Lynchburg General/Marshall Lodge School of Nursing in 1972. Peggy had a gift of caring for others, and she spent her working years in the health care industry in the greater Lynchburg area. Her most cherished years were spent as a homemaker raising her children, Stephen and Kimberly, in Forest. She most recently worked as a registered nurse in home health care for Carillion Home Health in Bedford for 16 years. Peggy was a devout Christian and was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and a former member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Left behind to cherish her memory are: her two children: Stephen Tibbs and his wife, Kim of Forest, and Kimberly Allen and her husband, Brian of Mint Hill, NC; four grandchildren: Stephen Jr. and Ellie Tibbs of Forest, and Marianne and Brian Allen Jr. of Mint Hill, NC; and three siblings: Betty Belknap and her husband, Cliff of Bedford, Bill Deibler of Washington, NC, and Kay Stewart and her husband, Ben of Wendell, NC.Peggy shared a particularly strong bond with her four beloved grandchildren: Stephen Jr., Ellie, Marianne, and Brian Jr. There was nothing that Peggy enjoyed more than spending time with the children. She cherished the time that she spent with them, and they each had a very special friendship. They will miss Grandmama.
The family will receive friends from 3 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg. A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Beck and Rev. Louis Beckwith, Jr. officiating. A brief graveside will follow at Virginia Memorial Park.
