After a valiant 21-month fight Peggy Faye Arrington Tyree of Walnut Hollow Rd., Lynchburg has lost her battle with cancer that began on her birthday September 2, 2020. She fought til the very end not wanting to give up. She passed away at the age of 73 at the Bedford Hospice House on Saturday, June 4, 2022.
Peggy leaves her husband, Clarence “Butch” Tyree, married 34 years and together 50 years; sons David Tyree (Kristi) and Dwayne Arrington (Donna) and their two children, Caleb and Kyndal Arrington.
Peggy was blessed to be the youngest of seven children born to the late Reaver and John Arrington, Jr. Mama raised Peggy and all of her siblings to have strong family ties and an unbreakable bond. We are so blessed for the values we were raised to hold high. Those values have moved down through the next generations. We are always there for each other.
Beloved brothers Bob, Dennie and Boots welcomed Peggy with open arms. She always said they were with her holding her hands for each of her radiation treatments.
Peggy is also survived by her loving brothers and sisters, Pete Arrington (Dot), Dot Sandifer and Iris Little; sister-in-law Bea Arrington; several nieces and nephews; her G and B family and her canine friend Monty.
She was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law Otis and Jim; sisters-in-law, Barbara and Della; nephew Dennie, Jr., Brian, Kevin and Tyler; mother and father-in-law Clarence and Vera Tyree and her beloved dogs Champ. Willis and Jake.
Peggy attended Boonsboro School and graduated from Liberty High School. She worked at Wiley & Wilson and reluctantly retired from G and B Insulation in 2018 after 33 years.
Peggy loved her family, her dogs, her flowers, Fox News and shopping at Kroger in Boonsboro, often times being the last one out the door at closing time.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, VA. the family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service.
