Peggy Bowler Hamlet, of Lynchburg, went to be with her Lord Saturday, November 12, 2016 following a long illness. She was born September 16, 1944, the daughter of the late Charlie Wright Bowler and Erna Midkiff Bowler.
Peggy was a devoted member of Heritage Baptist Church where she was employed for over 20 years.
Her beloved and devoted husband of 45 years, Dave Ronald Hamlet, preceded her in death. Those left to cherish her memory include their three daughters, Melinda Pendleton and her husband, Jerry, of Forest, Michelle Sloan and her husband David of Kennesaw, Georgia, and Tonya Hamlet and Nate Meyers of Madison Heights; five granddaughters, who were the light of her life: Madison and Macy Pendleton, and Jessica, Kalei and Lauren Sloan; and a sister, Jeanne Schwitzerlette and her husband Phillip of Greensboro, North Carolina.

A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held 11 a.m., Friday, November 18th at Heritage Baptist Church Chapel. The family will receive friends 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg and other times in her home.
