Peggy Jo Cole Nichols, 86, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away on June 10, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Theodore Verba Nichols.
Peggy was born on July 16, 1937, in Rainelle, West Virginia to the late Hubert Jennings Cole and Sarah Lorena Shawver Cole. She attended college at William & Mary where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in French and Francophone studies. She then taught French in Clifton Forge, Virginia. She loved to travel, especially to France and Europe, which she visited many times.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness. She had a strong faith which moved her to share and teach her beliefs to many. She had a gift for music and played the piano. She was able to share that gift by teaching others how to play. Peggy was very hospitable and loved to entertain, which came easy as she was an excellent cook. She was a devoted, wonderful mother, and best mother-in-law possible. She was a dear, loyal friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Kim Hubbard and husband Paul; sister-in-law, Maria Crowder; and many other family and friends.
