Peggy McConville Hensley, 74, of Forest, traveled home on Tuesday May 10, 2016, after a short illness.
She was born on July 04, 1941, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to Sam and Clara McConville.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 56 years Briggs F. Hensley; her children, Diane (Mike) Eagle, Brian (Gail) Hensley, Brenda (Joe) Harlow, and Denise (Jim Farrar) Owen; seven grandchildren: James, Dustin, Paige, Brooke, Hailey, Taylor, and Kelly; three great-grandchildren: Nevaeh, Kendall, and Savannah; four sisters: Sadie Harris, Alma Fisher, Janie Stinnett, and Ann (Royall) Fariss; four brothers: Henry (Wilma), Big Sam( Melinda), Robert (Nancy), and Allen( Cara Lou). She is also survived by her four sisters-in-law: Dorothy Hensley, Virginia (Marshall) Stephens, Jane Andrew, Marie (Clark) Rogers and Melinda (Gary) Nutter; her two brothers-in-law: Ashby (Frances) Hensley and Gordon (Sandra) Hensley, and numerous loving family members.
In addition to her parents Peggy was predeceased by her brother Preston , brothers-in-law Joe, Lester, Carlton , Reggie, Keith and Ronnie; sisters-in-law, Ruth, Naomi, Louise and Muriel.
The family will receive friends on Thursday May 12, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A graveside service will be held Saturday May 14, 2016 at 12 noon, at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
