Peggy Throneburg Mcfaden

Peggy Jean Throneburg McFaden, 81, beloved mother and grandmother, peacefully passed away on May 25, 2011 after a long battle with Parkinson\"™s Disease.  She was born  May 19, 1930 in Lynchburg, Va. to Clarence Ronda (Jack) Throneburg and Eula Elizabeth Daniel Throneburg.  She leaves behind her children Carolyn M. Mays, Dennis McFaden and his wife, Diane, Leslie McFaden and her partner, Mary Beth, and Janet M. Basham and her husband, Brian, to cherish memories of her loving care.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren Steven, Sherry, Timothy, Ryan, Jesse and Ariane; great-grandchildren Delaney and Mathias; her sister, Shirley T. Mays, and many dear friends.

She was predeceased by husband Calvin McFaden and her son-in-law Warren Mays.

Mama was kind and gentle and a talented artist.  She was so much fun to be with and we enjoyed sharing her love of historic places, antiques, the mountains, birds and watching the stars at night.

Mama was a lifelong member of Fort Hill United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.  The family sends a special thanks to the Diantha Hodges Circle who long kept her in their hearts.

The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm Monday, May 30 at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, Va.  A graveside service will be held at 10am Tuesday, May 31 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Philip Waltz officiating.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Parkinson\"™s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY, 10018; Good Samaritan Hospice, 3825 Electric Road, Roanoke, VA 24018; or the charity of one\"™s choice.

No time, no change can teach our souls thy memory to forget.
