Phillip Matthew Frazier

Phillip Matthew Frazier entered into rest with his savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 3.  He is no longer restricted by his diseases of Alzheimer\"™s and liver cancer that afflicted his body.  He is preceded in death by his parents James and Monnie Evans Frazier, his wife Letty Roegge Frazier, brother Noah Frazier and sister Ruby Frazier Sanderson.

He is survived by his daughter Sue Ann Frazier of Lynchburg Va., his son Thomas Frazier and wife Louise of Cataula Ga., and his son Mike Frazier and wife Mari of Lynchburg Va.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Cary Forlines, Becky Archilla, Matthew Frazier, Hannah Frazier, Sara Frazier, Isaac Frazier, and Lien Elese Frazier and Great grandchildren Ali Archilla, Conner Archilla, and Ava Forlines.

Mr. Frazier served in the United States Army Air Force from 1942 \"" 1945. He was a B24 pilot in Europe near the end of World War II.

His family was among the first to move to Lynchburg with Babcock and Wilcox where he served for 29 years, first as a Health Physicist, then as the Director of Training and retiring in 1984 as the Director of Industrial Safety.  He was an appointed member of the State of Virginia Radiation Advisory Board and previously worked with the Atomic Energy Commission.  He was also a former member and Chairman of the Lynchburg City School Board and a member of Euclid Christian Church.

Phil was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  A memorial service will be held in his honor at Tharp Funeral Home on Thursday, January 6, at 3 PM.
