Phillip "Chuck" Wayne Rector

Phillip “Chuck” Wayne Rector, 76, of Moneta, Virginia, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025. Chuck was born November 15, 1948 in York, Pennsylvania, the son of Oscar (OW) Rector and Marie Bray.

Chuck married Carol [Martin] on July 9, 2005 in Floyd, Virginia.

Chuck worked as a truck driver for the entirety of his career at various different trucking companies. He hauled everything from mushrooms and fuel to heavy equipment and lumber. Chuck especially loved the Outer Banks and going on camping trips with his family and dear friends. Chuck was a man of few words, but if he was talking it was either important and you better listen, or it was funny and you still better listen.

Remaining to cherish Chuck’s memory are spouse, Carol; children, Phillip Hamblin (Laureen), Jason Rector (Martha), Josh Rector (Crysta), and Daniel Edwards (Taylor); grandchildren, Emily Rector, Chad Rector, Charlee Rector, Ty Rector, and Landry Edwards; sister, Nancy Brackin; brother-in-law, Bubba Martin (Vickie), and many dear friends who enjoyed his company.

Preceding Chuck in death are his parents, Oscar (OW), Marie; and daughter in law, Wendy Sue Rector.

The family will welcome close friends for a private celebration of life at a later date.
