Phillis Payne Pinn, 78, of Forest, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 23, 2018.
Born on September 4, 1939 in Campbell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Harrison and Frances Payne.
She is survived by her spouse, Reverend Alon J. Coleman; preceded by her first husband Alonzo Pinn; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Denise Payne, and Tony Payne; grandchildren, Lauren Cary, Shantae Smith, Terrance Smith, and Trinity Smith; step children, Jean Ferguson, Nancy Anderson, Ella Toller, Levy Coleman and Patricia Jones; brothers, Delaware Payne and wife Margret, Forest Payne, Lindbyrd Payne and wife Juanita. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Verdean Payne and Lawrine Burley.
A celebration of Phillis’ life will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg with the Bishop Nathaniel Carter officiating. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m., one hour prior to service at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, Virginia.
