Phyllis Kelly Brown, 81, passed away at her daughter’s home in Huntersville, NC.
She was the daughter of the late Durwood and Lucy Hensley. She has a sister, Patsy Viar, and an aunt, Lucille Hughes, both from Lynchburg, Va.
She was a graduate of E.C. Glass High School, afterwards going to work for S.P. Montgomery and J. Robert Montgomery in the transportation business for 37 years, retiring from Pilot Freight Carriers.
She was a member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church where she taught the F.A.I.T.H. Ladies Bible Study for many years. Her theme for life was “Life is better than good so BLOOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED”.
She was first married to the late Jack Nolan Kelly of Hurt, Va. and lived in Altavista until his death in 1981.
In 2012, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Wesley T. Brown, Sr. of Forest, Va.

A private graveside funeral service will be held at Altavista Memorial Park.
