Phyllis Schmincke Wright, 85, of Forest, died on Thursday, January 3, 2019. She was the wife of the late Murl Lynion Wright for 61 years.
Born October 5, 1933 in Lynchburg, Phyllis was a daughter of the late Louis Schmincke and the late Mable Schmincke.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Clarkson and husband, Barry, of Lynchburg, Vicki Wright of Forest, and Kimberly Cary and husband, Hunt, of Plainfield, Il.; two grandchildren, Brook Cary of Plainfield, Il. and Nathan Clarkson and wife, Jessica, of Lynchburg; one great-granddaughter, Oliva Clarkson; one great-grandson, Tucker Clarkson; a sister, Celia Trent of Lynchburg; and a brother, Randall Schmincke and his wife, Nellie, of Forest.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tiffany Clarkson; and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Trent.
A graveside service will be held at Virginia Memorial Park on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
