Phyllis Wilson Wiley, 84, formerly of Lynchburg died Tuesday, November 2, 2021, she was the wife of the late Charles Wiley.
She was a daughter of the late Richard N. Wilson and the late Fannie Spencer Wilson. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Wilson, and Phillip Wilson, a sister, Dorothy Stanley,
Phyllis was born on November 13, 1936, in Bedford County. She was a long-time member of Beulah Baptist church and enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with her husband; especially on the Blue Ridge Parkway whether traveling to Blowing Rock, N.C., or a meal at Mabry Mill.
She is survived by her daughter, Terra L. Wiley of Roanoke, her son Vincent C. Wiley of Roanoke (wife Gina) and her adoring grandchildren, Zachary V. Wiley (wife Gabrielle) of Roanoke, Hannah G. Wiley of Greenville, S.C., and Rebekah F. Wiley of Roanoke, a great-grandson, Simon Zachary Wiley, brothers, Reginald Wilson of Lynchburg, Maynard Wilson of Madison Heights and Melvin Wilson of Lynchburg, sisters, Ethel W. Fifer, and Nancy W. Knight, both of Lynchburg.
The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale memory care in Roanoke, for their wonderful care of Phyllis.
The family will receive friends tonight, Thursday, November 4, 2021, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday November 5, 2021, at Sedalia Baptist Church. Interment will follow the service in Sedalia Baptist Church cemetery.
