Priscilla Saunders Jones, affectionately known as Elaine, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October19, 2024, in Lynchburg, Virginia. Born on November 28, 1956, she lived a life marked by love, warmth, and an unwavering passion for her family.
Elaine devoted her career to Norcraft, where she made significant contributions until her retirement in2022. Throughout her professional journey, she was known for her caring nature, ensuring that everyone she encountered felt genuinely loved. Her ability to connect with people was one of her most cherished traits, leaving a lasting impact on both colleagues and friends alike.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Elaine's personal life was rich with passion. She had a profound love for cooking and baking, a hobby that flourished after her retirement. Her kitchen became a haven for creativity, where the aroma of her baked goods often filled the air, bringing joy and comfort to her family.
Elaine's legacy is carried on by her beloved children, Terrick Turner, Takia Turner, Danielle Turner, Dinero Turner, and Quatasha Turner. She was also a proud grandmother to LaJayvia Turner, Jahmere Parrish, Kahmera Parrish, DiJuan Bowling Jr., Arriah Adgerson, and D’Jada Bowling, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. Her familial bonds extended further with her siblings Ethel Hunt, Barbra Canada, Shirley Jones, Luther Saunders, Patricia (sister-in-law), Tom Saunders, Venda (sister-in-law), Stanley Saunders, Nina (sister-in-law), and Daniel Saunders, a devoted nephew Don Saunders Jr. and niece Candice Johnson, alongside a host of other nieces and nephews, who will remember her fondly.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Saunders and Mary Scott, as well as her sisters Geraldine Saunders, Evangeline Deane, Francis Wilson, and Kathleen Davis. She also mourned the loss of her brother Donald Saunders, Sr., and brother Robert Saunders.
Her life was a tapestry woven with love, familial devotion, and culinary delights. Elaine's spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her as they carry forward the memories of her loving heart and generous spirit.
