Quentin Darius Farrar, 63, of Lynchburg, VA passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, November 24, 2016. He was the loving husband of Kathie Eanes Farrar for 40 years.
Born October 9, 1953 in Lynchburg, VA, Quentin was a son of the late Gus Julian Farrar and June Barton Farrar.
In addition to his parents, one sister, Stephanie Farrar, preceded Quentin in death.
In addition to his wife, Quentin is survived by one daughter, Kristin Farrar Carlson, her husband Ryan, of Lynchburg, and his granddaughter, Blakely Jordan Carlson. Quentin was one of 11 children, nine whom survived him: Tim Farrar Sr. and his wife, Kathy, Terry Farrar, Alexis White and her husband, Frankie, Pam Farrar, Dawn Farrar, Leslie Carwile and her husband Derrick, Tracy Farrar, Troy Farrar, and Joel Farrar and wife, Betsy. Numerous nieces and nephews also survived him.
Quentin was an employee of Simplimatic Engineering for 40 years, from which he retired 2 years ago.
He will forever be remembered as “the nicest man you ever knew”. Quentin was a jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed working on projects in his free time. He loved to gather around the bonfire with his brothers. He was a loving husband, a doting father and grandfather, and an incredible brother. His greatest joy was found spending time with the 3 loves of his life … his wife, his daughter, and his granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A service will immediately follow there at 4 p.m., officiated by Monsignor Kenneth Rush.
In lieu of flowers and food, the family requests that donations be made in Quentin’s memory to the Lynchburg Humane Society, 12211 Old Graves Mill Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
