Quincy J. Plattus

Quincy Jane Plattus, 16, of Bedford, went to be with our Lord on Monday, July 16, 2018. Born on March 3, 2002, in Santa Monica, California, she was the daughter of Wendy Witt and Daniel Plattus. Already in heaven to welcome Quincy Jane are her maternal grandparents Dianne Goad Witt and Stephen Ray Witt, and her paternal grandfather Simon Plattus.

Quincy was always an original…outside-the-box thinker, both beautiful and fierce. She was true to herself, and was artistic and creative. Quincy was a problem solver and a friendly peacemaker who talked a good game, but was a big teddy bear at heart. She brightened everyone’s day, was a great friend, and could accomplish anything she put her mind to. Quincy had a love for most forms of artistic expression, music, soccer, tennis, animals, food, especially pancakes, and a tremendous amount of energy with which she loved her family and friends. She was loved by so many and will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Quincy is survived by her brothers Aaron and Finn; her paternal grandmother, Ada Lee Plattus, her maternal great aunts and uncles, Carol and Jack, Cindy, Glennie, Junior and Janet, Peggy and Scott, Ada, Lonnie Ray and Debbie, Dowayne, Mark and Patrick, and Tim, and her paternal aunts and uncles, Michael, Rae Ellen and Marty, Andy, Perry and Jeanne and many, many loving cousins, and friends.

A visitation for Quincy will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Avenel in Bedford. A memorial service and celebration of Quincy’s life will be conducted at 12 noon, on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at St. John’s Episcopal Church with Rev. F. Wilson Brown officiating.
