Rachel Lee Murphy Minnis, 69, of Bedford died Thursday, July 14, 2011. She was born on October 13, 1941 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Wilbur Lee Murphy and Alice Virginia Thomas Murphy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Andrew Marshall Minnis, Jr.Rachel is survived by three sons Wendell Keith Minnis and wife Jeanine, Gary Leon Minnis, Mark Gregory Minnis and wife Crystal; five sisters, Glenda Althea Davis and husband Juan, Eleanor Dianne Jackson, Ella Maelynn Flemming and husband Garfield, Donna Johnson, and Odessa Brown; four brothers, Wilbur Elton Murphy and wife Saguan, Larry S. Murphy and wife Peggy, Mark D. Murphy and wife Sheila, and Gerald T. Murphy; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.A celebration of Rachel\"™s life will be conducted 1:00 PM, Monday, July 18, 2011, at Tharp Funeral Chapel Bedford with Elder Don Fisher officiating.
