Ralph Dennis Pugh
Ralph Dennis Pugh, Sr., 68, of Lynchburg went home to be with Jesus, Wednesday September 7, 2011. He was the devoted husband of Peggy Goff Pugh for 40 years.
Ralph was born August 31, 1943 in Lynchburg, a son of the late Jessie James Pugh and Hazel Candler Pugh. Ralph was a veteran of The US Army then continued on to his career at Limitorque/ Flow Serve where he retired after 40 years. He loved his family time and enjoyed his flower and vegetable gardens. He loved entertaining with his guitar to anyone that would take the time to listen. He was an all-around loved man. He was a member of the Tabernacle Church of God, American Legion Post 16 and Moose Lodge 1727.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a devoted son, Ralph Dennis Pugh Jr. and his wife Marsha of Forest, a daughter Shelly Renea Pugh, his little angel, of Lynchburg and two sisters: Phyllis Thompson of Lynchburg, Shirley Phelps of Bedford, three grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, Rucker, Reggie, Fred, Eugene and Melvin, two sisters, Doris Routon and Lois Byars.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm. on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
A Celebration of Ralph\"™s Life will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 12, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home, with Pastor Sam Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 16.
