Ralph Fancher Lowe
Ralph Fancher Lowe, age 88, died Monday, November 4, 2013. He was the loving husband of Virginia E. Lowe for 65 years.
Ralph was born in New Jersey on September 25, 1925, the son of late Ralph GoldsmithLowe and Isabel Bradner Lowe.
In addition to his wife, Ralph is survived by a daughter; Debbie Lowe Roth of Lynchburg; a son Richard Edwards Lowe and his wife Joyce, of Hollidaysburg, PA; and a brother, Robert Bradner Lowe of Wantage, NJ; a granddaughter, Caroline Ann Roth of Lynchburg, and a niece and nephews.
Ralph has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA. He was a member of SAE Social Fraternity and also a member of The Institute of Electrical And Electronic Engineers. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Ralph served his country in the U.S Navy and later worked for General Electric for 31years as a Professional Engineer. He enjoyed spending time at Smith Mountain Lake, camping, skiing, reading, as well as traveling, ice skating, and being with his family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 9, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church in the chapel, 1215 VES Road, [email protected], with the Reverend John Scholer officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lynchburg Humane Society, 3305 Naval Reserve Road, Lynchburg, VA 24503, [email protected] .
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Lynchburg General Hospital, the doctors, nurses and other specialists, particularly in the cardio-thoracic intensive care unit, the medical intensive care unit, the general medical unit, and the pulmonary unit for their outstanding work and care of Mr. Lowe.
