Ralph James “Jimmy” Foster

Ralph James \"Jimmy\" Foster, Jr., age 65, of Lynchburg, died October 8, 2012, at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.

 

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Carolyn Torbert Foster, and step-son, Adam Stapleton of Lynchburg.

 

Jimmy is also survived by his three daughters; Nena Pritchard and husband David, and their children Sarah, Lillie Ruth, and Theo Pritchard of Mechanicsville; Susan Dixon and husband Brent, and their children Cody, Camden, Reese, and Zeek Dixon, of Glen Carbon, IL; and Amy Dunn and husband Aaron, and their children Gabby, Foster, and William Dunn of Mechanicsville, his wife from his first marriage, Margaret H. Foster of Mechanicsville, and his sister Sue F. Godsey of Madison Heights as well.

 

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ruth Foster of Elon, and a sister, Debrell F. Massie of Monroe.

 

Jimmy graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1969 with a Degree in Business. He proudly served his country in the U.S. National Guard.

 

Jimmy\"™s work career included Lynchburg Foundry\"™s Radford Arsenal Division, First Virginia Bank in various positions in Northern Virginia and Mechanicsville, and managed Country Corner Market in Elon with his parents.

 

The visitation will take place on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Elon Presbyterian Church, 2290 Cedar Gate Road, Madison Heights, VA 24572. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM at the church chapel with the Reverends Barry Tucker and Charles Willoughby officiating.
