Ralph Junior Staton

Ralph Junior Staton, 86, of Forest, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was born October 17, 1927 in Buena Vista, VA. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from General Electric.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Mason Staton; daughter, Wanda S. Mays; grandchildren, Travis Mays (Shamra), and Eric Mays; and one sister, Phyllis Gilbert of Stuarts Draft, VA; stepchildren, Robin B. Cooper (Rennie), Kenneth Burns, Karen Floyd (Donald), Jay Mayhew (Marybeth); grandchildren, Jason Cooper, Michael Cooper, Katherine Floyd, Maggie Mayhew, Dallas Mayhew; and one great grandchild, Caleb Cooper.

Visitation will be Friday, October 25, 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg from 5:30 until 6:30 PM and at other times at the residence of Karen Floyd, 219 Hopkins Road, Lynchburg, VA.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors by American Legion Post 16 will be conducted 10 AM, Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Spring Hill Cemetery with Pastor Rick Dellinger officiating.
