Ralph Taylor Fisher, 87, Madison Heights, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021. He was the husband of Marie Wood Fisher for 67 years. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Taylor Fisher.
Born on September 17, 1933, in Nathalie, Va., he was a son of the late Richard William Fisher and Ruth Forline Fisher. Mr. Fisher was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Lynchburg Foundry. He also worked at Kidd’s Carpet in Lynchburg and McBride signs in Madison Heights, he attended Sandy Bottom Christian Church and later attended Blue Ridge Community Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Brian Henry Fisher; two brothers, Thomas William Fisher of Gladys, Va., and Howard Eugene Fisher of Nathalie, Va.; his sister, Phyllis Fisher Dawson of Scottsburg, Va.; four granddaughters, Katie Louise Fisher of Madison Heights, Elizabeth Grace Fisher of New Zealand, Auckland, Emily (Joshua) Bradley of Midway Park, N.C. and Erica Marie Fisher of Inman, S.C.; and daughter-in-law, Julie Eilders Fisher of Inman, S.C.
Mr. Fisher will lie in repose from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021 and Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 9, 2021, in Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Ryan Fulmer officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service from 11:45 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Sandy Bottom Christian Church, 259 Old Wright Shop Rd, Madison Heights, VA 24572.
