Dr. Ralph W. Green, II, age 75, of Forest, VA, a loving husband and father, went to be with the Lord at 11:50 AM on Thursday, October 9, 2014. He was the son of the late M. P. (Fuzzy) and Wanda Belman Green of Portsmouth, VA.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years Louise Wegner Green of Forest, VA, a son and daughter-in-law Ralph W. Green, III and Cheryl Wychopen Green of Moundsville, WV and a daughter, Rhonda Green Nicholes and son-in-law Steve Nicholes of Jeju, Korea. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Rachel Green Miller and husband, Thomas Miller; Ginny Green Deason and husband, Stephen Deason; Bethany R., Ralph W. IV, Garrett W. Green; Benjamin D., Anna R., Daniel J., and Abby Lou Nicholes and 4 great grandchildren: John Thomas, Cameron, Savannah Miller and Landon Deason, and sister: Jean Green Michael of Hollywood SC, also numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him to glory is also one of his great granddaughters: Addison Lynn Deason and two half-brothers: William R. Norship of Goochland VA, and Robert Norship, of Virginia Beach, VA.
Dr. and Mrs. Green served in ministry for over half a century. He was a pastor for 14 years in Indiana, Ohio and West Virginia. For the last 39 years he served with Word of Life Local Church Ministries in Virginia and has ministered abroad on many occasions including being a guest professor at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Jeju, S. Korea. One of the things he was known for by children and adults was his gift of ventriloquism and his side-kick, Danny Lassie DoLittle.
The service for Dr. Green will be held at Heritage Baptist Church, Lynchburg on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM The family will receive guests and friends on Monday evening, October 13, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the church. Pastor Nathan Smith, Dr. Gerald Kroll, Steve Nicholes and Pastor R. W. Green, III officiating.
Interment will be a private family affair. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jeju Korea Word of Life Bible Institute, c/o Heritage Baptist Church.
