Randy “Byrd” Brooks, Jr. died Friday, December 16, 2016.
Byrd was born August 29, 1992, in Bedford, son of Tracy B. Ragland and Randy Byrd Brooks, Sr. Byrd, was a professional welder by trade and attended Blue Ridge Community Church.
He is survived by his mother, Tracy B. Ragland and her husband, Kevin of Lynchburg; his father, Randy B. Brooks, Sr., and his wife Sarai Brooks of Lynchburg; his siblings, Willow Ragland, Zephaniah, Gracianna, Isiaiah, and Ella Brooks; his girlfriend, Kinsley Phillips; his grandparents, Doug and Judy Pendleton of Lynchburg, Gerald and Laurie Wallace of Pensacola, Fla., Duane and Karen Ragland of Lynchburg, Phillip and Connie Bass of Concord, Dwight and Pam Evans of Goode, and Danny and Kim Brooks of Rustburg; his great-grandparents, Manning and Myrtle Harrell of Concord, Odell Ragland of Buckingham, and Carl Byrd Mills of Bedford County; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2016, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A Celebration of Byrd’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with the Associate Pastor Desi Justis of Mountain View Church of God officiating.
