Randy David Martin

July 24, 1956 — January 20, 2021

Randy David “Bubba” Martin, 64, of Holcomb Rock, VA passed away on January 20, 2021.

Randy was born in Lynchburg, son of the late William E. Martin and the late Edith McNeely Martin. Randy worked as the Parts Manager for Piedmont Fleet Services for 16 years. He was a member of the Boonsboro United Methodist Church. Randy was all about community service; he was past member of the Boonsboro Vol Fire & Rescue Squad for many years, a current member of Boonsboro Ruritan Club where he held many positions including his great love of coaching youth sports.

Randy was a car enthusiast, he was a true Mopar guy, he loved going to Cruise in and car shows and catching up with friends, he never knew a stranger always talking to someone.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Angie Martin, Lynchburg; daughter, Tracy McCool and husband, Mike McCool and his two precious grandsons, Finn and William McCool all of Abingdon, VA. Bubba is going to truly be missed. He is also survived by aunts, Nellie Jennings of Bedford, Lois Reynolds of Big Island, Norma Williams of Coleman Falls, and Barbara Rader and her husband, James of Lynchburg; one uncle, Sonny McNeely of Coleman Falls; mother-in-law, Sylvia Pickeral of Rustburg; sister-in-law, Donna Rakes and her husband, Charlie; brothers-in-law, Bryant Pickeral and his wife, Amy and Boyd Pickeral and his special friend, Sandra all of Rustburg. Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and so many special friends.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of First Dominion Home Health for taking care of Randy over the past several months.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. and services will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home. Burial will be private at a later date. The service will be live streamed for those who cannot attend.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boonsboro United Methodist Church, 113 Coffee Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24503, Boonsboro Ruritan Club, 1065 Bradley L Gaertner Pl, Lynchburg, VA 24503, and the Boonsboro Vol. Fire Dept. & Rescue, 1065 Lee Jackson Highway, Lynchburg, VA 24503, or a charity of your choice.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
