Ray Allen Snead

Ray Allen Snead, 69 of Lynchburg Virginia entered into eternal rest at the Salem VA Medical Center.  He was born in Campbell County on September 9, 1948 to the late Vera Royal Snead and the Late Charles Edward Snead.  He was baptized on January 28, 2018 and was married 27 years to his loving wife Lauretta Dillard Snead (Bernice).  He was preceded in death by two brothers:  Lester Snead and Charles Snead Jr.

In addition to his wife, left to cherish his precious memories are a son Ray Allen Matthews Sr. (Snead) and his wife Nannette Gonzalez-Matthews; a daughter who called him (Hero) Jacquetta A. Dillard.  Grandchildren:  Kristie Matthews Thomas, Ray Matthews Jr., Carly Matthews, Jocelyn Gonzalez-Matthews, Raelyn Matthews; great –granddaughter:  Khloe Thomas, brother-in- law: Milton Dillard Jr. Donna Dillard whom he called sis;  devoted sister- in- law:  Lisa Dillard, devoted co-worker who was like a sister:  Juanita Morgan (Alphonso); three nieces:  Lesly, Rhonda, (whom reminded him of his mother) and Carla.  A devoted friend   Donald Lipford Jr. and a host of other family, church members, and friends.

A celebration of life will be Saturday April 14, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Christ Chapel Baptist Church  205 Chapel  Lane,  Lynchburg,  VA  24501.  Rev.  Johnny Stone will be officiating.   His remains will lie in repose one hour before the service. The interment will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
