Ray Nickelson Beasley, Jr., 75, of Madison Heights, passed away Thursday August 27, 2015 after a courageous 10 yr battle with dementia. He was the husband of his faithful and devoted wife Linda Harris Beasley of 52 years. Linda selflessly served as his dedicated care giver for the endurance of his difficult illness.
Ray was born April 10, 1940 in Norfolk, son of the late Ray Nickelson Beasley, Sr. and Edna Sanders Beasley. Ray was a gifted handyman, a true master of all trades who could build or repair anything.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his two daughters: Bambi Elliott and husband Jones of Bedford, and Tracie Beasley of Easthampton, MA, brother Earl Beasley and wife Yvonne of S.C. and a sister Verna Carroll of Chesapeake, four grandchildren: Christopher, Ryan, Matthew, and Kaitlyn Elliott.
A Graveside Service for Ray will be held at 1:00 p.m. today, Saturday August 29, 2015 at Amherst Cemetery with friend and Pastor John Woosley officiating.
The family would like to thank PACE for their support, especially Brenda and Brittany. A special thanks to Carol Arthur for her outstanding care and emotional support.
