Raymond Lee Lackey, 64, of Forest, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 in his home. He was born May 20, 1954 in Tarrant County, Texas to Joseph and Shirley Lackey. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dorothy Kay Groom.
He is survived by his wife, Amber Lee Lackey of 31 years; son, from a previous marriage, Kevin Lee Lackey; daughter, Angela Krystal Moore and her husband Jeremy Edward Moore; son, Brandon Neil Lackey; and his grandchildren, Aiden Nicholas Moore, Emersyn Mackenzie Moore, Graham Ryan Moore, Holden Grayson Moore, and Hudson Mason Moore. He is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Johnson and husband Jackie and Darla Bowling and husband Danny and 14 nieces and nephews.
He served in the Navy for 10 years followed by a few years working in aircraft, then worked and eventually retired from Southern Air where he worked on building automation systems.
He will be greatly missed by his family.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 12:45 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at Virginia Memorial Park, Lynchburg Rt. 221 Forest, VA 24551.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
