Reba Agnes Vaughan Watson

Reba Agnes Vaughan Watson, 98, of Bedford, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Campbell Rest Home.  She was the wife of the late Jack Carlton Watson.

 

Born in Bedford County on October 8, 1915, she was the daughter of the late John Mary Vaughan and Avvie Louise Watson Vaughan.  Reba worked for Rubatex Corp., until she was 65 years old. She was a life time member of Laurel Grove Presbyterian Church and also the oldest member of the church. Reba was very much a people person, she never met a stranger. The staff at Campbell Rest Home always enjoyed the way she would say \"Thank You Sweetly\" anytime they did something for her. She loved to quilt and she made quilts up until the age of 97.

 

Reba is survived by her daughter, Nellie (Peggy) Graham; grandchildren, Ernest W. Graham, Teresa Dillon, Iris Small; nine great-grandchildren; several great great-grandchildren; also her two  cousins, Martha H. Agee and Judy W. Robertson who were also her caregivers.

 

A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Donnie G. Glass officiating. The family will receive friends 9:30-10:30 AM, Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.

 

The family would like to thank the staff at Campbell Rest Home for all the love that they gave to Reba during her stay.
