Reba Irene Perdue Wright

Reba Irene Perdue Wright, 84, of Bedford, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011. Born September 27, 1927 in Roanoke; she was the daughter of the late Willie Harrison Perdue and Stella Crowe Perdue.

A member of Main Street United Methodist Church and the Elks National Home; Reba worked as a bookkeeper at Rubatex for over 20 years. She was a loving and caring person, always giving a helping hand. She enjoyed baking bread, crocheting, and she spent time teaching the art of both to her friends.

In addition to her parents, Reba was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, William Kenneth Wright, and a brother, William Gray Perdue. She is survived by her children, Jane Barber, and Morris Hall and wife, Trudy; four grandchildren, Tina Hall, Ginger Burke and husband, Robert, Dr. Kelly Sullivan and husband, Dave, and Jackie Barber; six great-grandchildren, Travis, Tyler, Tanner, Trent, Trace, Abby; one brother, Carroll Perdue and wife, Peggy; sisters-in-law, Hazel C. Wright, Margaret R. Wright, and Irma I. Wright; brother-in-law, Charles E. Wright and wife, Hazel O. Wright; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Elks National Home, Special Care Unit, 931 Ashland Avenue, Bedford, VA 24523.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 am, Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Chapel; interment following in Virginia Memorial Park.
