Richard J. Morrison, Jr.

Richard J. Morrison, Jr. of Elon, passed away at his home with his family by his side on June 2, 2024, in Elon. He was born on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1967, at Fort Eustis in Newport News, VA. to Richard J Morrison Sr. and Darlene Cyrus Keister. He was married to Mary Beth Garner, for 30 years. Richard played football at Brookville High School and went on to play at Notre Dame and was part of the 1988 Championship Season.

Richard was a very successful salesman until being diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Cory Beth and Cyrus James Morrison; parents, Richard J. Morrison (Diane) and Darlene Keister (Rucker); brothers, Shaun Morrison (Kamron), Scott Morrison (Brynne); brothers in law, Steve Garner (Mary Johnson), Gary Garner (Lynn), and Tommy Garner; and sisters in law, Jennifer Miller, Janet Hooper (Randy), Karen Berry (Reggie), and Laura Pribble (Keith), nieces, Lexi Snider, Parker and Livi Morrison, and nephew, Dylan Morrison and a very special Aunt Bea Richardson and her brother, William and Jane Cyrus and many other special nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends for a visitation at Tharp Funeral Home on Breezewood Dr. Lynchburg, on June 8, 2024, at 11:00 A.M to 1:00 P.M.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Heartland Hospice and Karen Jamerson.  The family appreciates gifts of flowers.
