Richard "Dicky" Alden White of Rustburg passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024. He was the son of the late Jack and Elizabeth "Bussie" White. He was preceded in death by brothers John and Link.
Dicky served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by Meredith Burda/RR Donnelley for 31 ½ years and later worked for Presbyterian Homes and Family Services/Humankind. Dicky was a member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church. He loved his country, the American flag, and a well mowed lawn.
But most of all, he loved his family. Dicky is survived by his wife, Sandy, and their children Heather Husser (David), Leigh Ann White, Nathan White (Carrie), Kim Lemburg (Phil), Lori Ann Waddell, and Felipe Colonese Schaumburg. He was the best Pop Pop to grandchildren; Liam, Drake, Willow, Crew, Sadie, Christina, and Ozzie. Dicky is also survived by his mother-in-law Edythe Mullagh, sisters-in-law; Jane White, Jo White, Debbie Bozeman (Steve), Diane Dodson (Thomas), and Marie Etter (Darl) and many extended family members. He will be terribly missed by his feline partner-in-crime, Simba.
